Principal Solar Examines Solutions for the Texas Energy Shortage, Offers Guidance in Compelling White Paper
Dallas, TX – July 24, 2012 — Principal Solar, Inc (PSI; OTC Pink: PSWW), a publicly traded solar energy holding company executing a unique roll-up strategy to create the world’s first distributed solar utility, today announced the release of its White Paper, “Solutions for the Texas Energy Shortage.” Authored by Ron Seidel, PE, PSI Board of Directors, the paper examines strategies for spurring generation development to meet Texas’ growing energy demands.
“The market could be allowed to operate as designed, with no caps, or sufficiently high caps,” says Seidel. “Another solution involves a capacity market that operates to ensure that sufficient generating capacity is available to meet peak loads.
As a long-term solution, the impact of a shift from traditional to solar power on the Texas economy could be significant.
Seidel adds, “Currently, without a capacity component in the market, there is not sufficient financial incentive to encourage building new power plants.”
