I’ve been interning at CPR for two weeks now and already I love it. I was extremely nervous to start working since I was jumping from being sales associate at a retail store to working in an office from 9 to 5 and my only real PR experience was from the classes I have taken at Penn State University. Luckily for me, all the employees at CPR are extremely helpful and genuinely want the interns to learn and gain practical experience.
About an hour into my first day, I was asked to write a pitch to a student blogger about Unotron’s washable keyboards. I was surprised that they already wanted me to write a pitch and I probably stared at my blank word document for 30 minutes before I came up with an idea. I decided to stick with what I know best, and I made a reference to the New York Jets. That of course caught Account Manager Stephanie’s attention, being a die-hard fan as well, but it also caught the blogger’s attention because they responded that same day and wanted to write a review for the keyboard!
Everyone at CPR has been so helpful and kind, which is great especially since I’m the type of person that asks an insane amount of questions (trust me- you don’t want to watch a movie with me). I feel like I’m finally getting a hang of the ropes here. I’ve learned so much within these first few weeks and I’m excited to continue to learn even more. I know this internship will be a great experience that will help me a lot once I’m out in the real world.
