Alliance Life Sciences Foresees States Following Texas Reporting Guidelines While Waiting for Official Federal Mandates

SOMERSET, N.J. – March 11, 2013 – Alliance Life Sciences Consulting Group (ALSCG), an innovative management and technology consultancy, announces the release of its White Paper: “Current State of Government Reporting: Will We All Follow Texas?” The paper comes in response to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid’s (CMS) failure to publish a Proposed AMP Rule for implementing the Medicaid prescription drug provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).
“These guidelines are critical in that they would have a wide-reaching financial impact on the life sciences industry by creating serious administrative and operational challenges,” says Jim Burke, senior vice president, ALSCG. “So, lacking the final rules, we must determine where we stand in the current state of government reporting without official direction. Currently, Texas enacted new regulations, revising and expanding reporting obligations. As we continue to wait, it’s expected that many other states will follow suit as we all wait for official federal mandates to be finalized by CMS.”
